Patricia Winfrey's Obituary
Patricia ”Patti” Lee Winfrey, (Pasty) was called home to the Lord on October 20th 2022.
Patti was born Oct 16th 1951 in Port Arthur, Texas to Chester and Dorothy Windsor.
She attended Thomas Jefferson High School where she was involved in the Drama Club, stage productions as well as journalism. She graduated from Lamar University with Honors in Beaumont, Texas in 1974 where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She would often tell stories of her time at Lamar and her Delta Zeta days.
Later, she visited Tacoma, Washington, where her parents had relocated for work and the cooler weather won her over. The heat and humidity of Texas was no match for crisp and cool of Washington. Despite this, her love of her home state of Texas never waned. She would always keep up with the goings on back home. She will always be a proud Texan.
By chance, she attended a company Christmas party with her parents and met Bruce Winfrey. They danced and they were inseparable ever since. Bruce & Patti were married in August 1976 and had 2 wonderful sons, Matthew in 1979 & Michael in 1982.
Over the course of the years, Patti was a teacher, mentor, business owner but the role she was most proud of was wife and mother. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family. She had an uncanny ability to make friends wherever she went. Her wit, intelligence, charm & smile was unmatched. She could quote verses from the Bible or a line of Shakespeare with equal effectiveness. She had an unwavering faith and trust in the Lord which was her guiding factor in her life.
Aside from her love of family she had a big heart for all animals, especially cats. She gave generously to numerous Animal rescue organizations as well as humanitarian groups.
She is survived by her husband of forty-six years Bruce, her sons, Matthew, Michael, David, her daughter, Shelley and daughter-in-law, Amanda, sister-in-law, Harriette & numerous cousins.
Funeral services for “Mom” will be conducted at 11 am Nov 2nd at the Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, Wa.
