Patricia Ann Thompson's Obituary
Patricia Ann Thompson, of Federal Way, Washington, went to her heavenly home on May 19, 2016, at the age of 70. Pat was born December 28th, 1945, and raised in Tacoma, Washington. She attended Saint Leo’s Grammar and High school from kindergarten through 12 grade.
She loved to travel. One of her favorite places was Maui, Hawaii. She loved the fresh ocean air, the warm weather and the beautiful sunsets. Her license plate holder said, “My home is Maui, I’m just visiting”.
Pat worked for the Auburn School District for over 30 years at Evergreen Heights Elementary, where she was an office administrator. She also worked at P.I.C.C. (Pediatric Interim Care Center) where she cared for hundreds of babies recovering from prenatal drug and alcohol addiction.
Pat retired two years ago and thoroughly enjoyed her life in retirement. She participated in serving the homeless at Holy Spirit Parish, where she was a long-time member. She took art lessons, she spent time with family whenever possible, and traveled as much as she could.
Pat loved the holidays. She enjoyed hosting parties at her house. Christmas is a time that she liked to spoil her children and grandchildren with gifts. Every year there was the Kirschner cousin’s party, where she was known as Patty. There was always a “fight“ over Aunt Lucille’s prized jam.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Madeline Burdett, her sister, Cathy, and her grandson Jacob. She is survived by her son Michael James Thompson and his wife Laura, son Steven Scott Thompson and his wife Andrea, her daughter Lisa Michelle (Thompson)
Campbell and her husband Corey, many grandchildren and a host of friends. She will be missed by all of us.
Please join us in a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, June 11, at 11:00am at Holy Spirit Church, 327 Second Avenue South, Kent, Washington. There will be a potluck reception immediately following the service in the fellowship hall next to the chapel. In memory of our mother’s love for Hawaii, we ask that the attire be casual in Hawaiian style.
In keeping with Pat’s final wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations to her grandson Jacob’s Memorial Heart fund ( www.JacobsMHF.org or https://www.facebook.com/JacobsMHF/ ) would be appreciated.
