Patricia Lou Todd's Obituary
She has joined her beloved husband Jack where they are probably practicing their golf swings together again. She came into this world on November 15, 1929 and left this world on March 28, 2006. She was a woman that had a broad smile, had a unique ability to tell a joke or two with a touch of mischievousness and gave out an aura of energy that could fill a room with her presence. She touched many lives during her seventy-six years and will always be remembered as Â"Pat.Â"Pat was born in Wenatchee, WA, graduated high school in 1947, went to work packing cherries and picking apples on her parents, Iva and Claude MeehanÂ's orchard. Sometime later she made up her mind to move west and try the wet side of the state. She became a dispatcher for the Washington State Patrol in Seattle where destiny intervened and she met the love of her life, Jack Todd. JackÂ's career took the Todds to Vancouver, Colfax, Bellevue and his last assignment before retirement to Lakewood. After the birth of their oldest son, Pat contracted to take a home study course in court reporting and was one of the few who actually completed the difficult program. She spent many years running her nimble fingers over the keyboard while taking depositions and testimonies from many high profile legal trials. After retiring from court reporting, she took up the game of golf. With Jack as her instructor, and always tenacious, she easily mastered the game. Her greatest achievement was a hole-in-one on number six at Oakbrook Golf and Country Club. She developed an avocation in organizing and assisting in helping her friends put together, in home, garage sales. She was also proficient in the kitchen, always inviting her friends in to sample her latest creations. Pat was a volunteer for the Pierce County Cancer Thrift Shop, a member of the Lakewood Republican Women, and a member of the Oakbrook Golf and Country Club, where she was a past president of the eighteen-hole womenÂ's group. Pat and Jack were long time season ticket holders at Husky Stadium. They also enjoyed trips to Reno and Las Vegas for Â"a little touch of the slots.Â"She is survived by son Jeff of Lakewood, son Greg of Palm Desert, CA, granddaughter Meagan, sister Donna Erickson of East Wenatchee, nephew Phil Erickson, niece Barbara Hepler, grandnephew Bryan Hepler, and numerous other grandnephews and nieces. PatÂ's sunny disposition and effervescence will be missed by all her family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Thursday April 6, 2006 at Oakbrook Golf and Country Club. All donations: please send to the American Cancer Society.
