Patricia June Coker's Obituary
Patricia J. Coker
July 7 1929 -" December 22, 2011
Born Patricia June Martin in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Pat moved with her husband Bob and son Ken to the Spanaway area in 1968. In her early adult years she devoted herself to caring for her family. After the death of her husband, Pat decided to enroll in nursing school. She graduated with her LPN in 1983. Pat worked as an LPN at the VA Medical Center Alzheimer Unit for 10 years. She retired at age 63, yet found she was not quite ready for retirement life. She worked an additional 10 years as a caregiver for Catholic Community Services.
Pat dedicated her life to caring for others, including her son, the neighbors, and many Bethel High School students. She possessed a passion for animals and made sure no stray cat or dog went hungry on her watch. She also loved to fish, garden, bowl, dance, and watch her son play basketball. She had a special bond with her son Ken, and her love of life was contagious. She will be missed by many.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Redding -Å"Bob- Coker. She is survived by her son Ken (Kim) Coker, and grandson Colby Coker. Funeral services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home on January 7, 2012 at 1:00PM.
Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
