I was so sorry to see this notice, Jim. Oh how high school memories flooded back with this picture. There were fun times with wonderful gal friends on Day Island and because of Pat I was a member of the Day Island Jr.Orthopedic Guild, I lived in Tacoma. I remember the old way to get to the Franklins on Day Island, a rather rickety, wooden bridge type thing which got us on the island by Adams Marina. Par was a great hostess to our Beach gatherings and Jr. Orthopedic meetings, (JOG>)
Pat's good friend from high school and sorority sister from WSU, Floss Thomson, died 1 year ago. She would have been so interested, as I was, in your incredible tribute to your Mother. I only knew some of those accolades but remember her calling and showing up at Sherman Elementary school when you were a wee lad. Out friendship resumed then. as we had lost touch during college.
I am grateful Wally and I could take her to your wedding which could have been my last visit. Thank you for stating that she had problems with life issues due to mental illness. I never knew how to help or what the problem really was. You wrote a beautiful, honoring tribute to her. She would have loved to read it.........maybe she did.
Thank you for the article, I shall take it to the next gathering of Clover Park gals in April for those who don't live near. I pray your family is well.
