Her joy of every friend, family member, golf partner and life experiences. She was full of life and knew she was blessed. Whenever she shared old stories about her golfing adventures I smiled. She could have been a very famous professional golfer but she chose without a single regret her family. The joy she got from talking about her family will always stay with me.
I was lucky enough to play a lot of Team golf with Pat. We would always be paired together and everyone we played against would always share their joy of getting to compete against the “great” Pat Harbottle. It was such a fun experience for me because Pat was the ultimate competitor. She never gave up and we fought for our points to the very end, every single time. I loved watching her play. I loved listening to her stories. Being in her company on any golf course was just the best.
Pat had this beanie that was given to her long ago when she had won one of her many events. When I played in my first TCGC club championship Pat gave me the beanie to keep as my lucky charm. It meant the world to me that she was rooting for me. Through the years we exchanged the beanie back and forth as each of us had a victory to celebrate.
I got to know Pat when we were members at Fircrest and she would come as Shirley Baty's partner. I got to play with them and was in awe. We later made the move to Tacoma and Pat enthusiastically welcomed me and we became fast friends and partners in many events. I learned so much from her. Not just golf, but she was the perfect example of a loving wife, great mom and a proud Grandma. When we first started playing together she would talk and talk and I could hardly hear her most of the time. I asked another lady if I was suppose to answer her and she said, no Pat talks all the time. After harassing Pat about wanting to see her scrapbooks, she finally let me see them. What a history! She was so humble about her numerous accomplishments. What a great life well lived. I will miss her so much

I am a relative newbie to Pat’s world. I met her some 20 years ago, the day Karl and I moved into the house next door, and have treasured every moment of our acquaintance. She was a wonderful neighbor, a great friend, a much admired golf buddy and a fabulous tomato grower. I feel blessed to have known her and will miss her presence very much.

I had the pleasure of knowing Pat for a short time, having just met in 2025. The brightness in her eyes, the spark in her speech and the spring in her step defied her age, a part of her forever bright spirit. I am grateful for the short time I knew her—she brought a smile to my face each time we met. Rest in peace Pat…and if you can, whisper me a little guidance when I am on the greens…
