Patricia Jane Hagen's Obituary
Patricia “Pat” J. (Klevmoen) Hagen
On September 4, 2020, Pat went to meet her Lord and Savior face to face and join her loved ones who had gone before. Pat was 82 years old and left this earth due to complications from Congestive Heart Failure at her home of 48 years in Tacoma, Washington. Pat was born on May 14, 1938 at Tacoma General Hospital to Ingward and Marian (Fladager) Klevmoen. She lived in Tacoma her entire life except for a brief time when she lived in Southern California in the late 1950’s.
Pat graduated from Lincoln High School in 1956, married and moved to Southern California shortly thereafter. In Long Beach, California in 1958 she became a mother for the first time. Soon the small family returned to Tacoma where in 1964, Pat had her second child. In 1969, Pat was blessed with her last living child. Pat has now met in Heaven her other three children that she never knew here on earth, what a meeting that must have been! In 1978, Pat was married to Sigurd Hagen and the family immediately increased in love and numbers. In 1985, Pat became a grandmother for the first time, she was elated. There were 4 more grandchildren to follow. With her marriage to Sig, she also gained more grandchildren. Pat’s love of family was evident to all who knew her.
Pat worked at the telephone company in the early years of her working career, before moving on to work for Weyerhauser. After spending some years in the home raising her children, she returned to the work force at Fairchild and then retired from Frank Russell where she continued to have many long-lasting friendships. Pat attended Life Center Church for many years and continued to watch services online faithfully when she couldn’t attend in person.
Nothing was more important to Pat than her family and friends. The people in her life were her passion. Pat’s calendar is filled with dates important to her, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. If you knew Pat, it is safe to say you received a card from her to celebrate special moments in your life or to say thank you for something you’d done to bless her. On her last vacation, Pat was able to travel to North Dakota to celebrate her aunt’s 100th birthday and see many family members she hadn’t seen for some time. We are so thankful she was able to make that trip. She was in her element visiting and catching up with all and especially her beloved Aunt Gudrun.
Pat, Patty, Mom and Grandma is survived by: Daughter Cheryl (Tim) Cheslik, Sons Stephen Hampton and Jeff Meek; Step-daughters Kimberlee Neal (Bob Fulmer), Teresa Olsen and Patty (Wes) Bonney; 5 Grandchildren: Ashley, Amber, Heather, Garrett and Megan; 7 step-grandchildren: Leonard, Talese, James, Chris, Mike, Daniel and Jonathan; and 8 great-grandchildren with one on the way in November and 5 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Sig, her parents, her sister JoAnn, brother Roger, stepsons Michael Meek and Dale Olsen.
From the family of Pat Hagen, thank you to all who enriched Mom’s life with friendship and fellowship throughout her years. Mom had so many friends it would be impossible to name them all but, of special mention are Earleen Tanksley and Bev Huss. We know how much Mom cherished your friendship. Also, a big thank you to Franciscan Hospice and Jonyne Elliott for all the support they gave to Mom and her family the last few weeks.
If you would like, a donation to Boys Town or Salvation Army in Pat’s name is most appreciated.
Due to Covid restrictions set by the Governor of Washington State, Pat’s funeral and graveside services are closed to the public. However, a public viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 10 am to 4 pm at Mt. View Funeral Home. Family members will be available to meet and greet anyone who would like to pay their respects
