Patricia Ann Habersetzer's Obituary
The family of Patricia Ann Waller Habersetzer is saddened to announce her peaceful passing on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026, at the age of 93.
Pat was married to her husband Tom Habersetzer for 67 years, and together they built a close family that meant everything to her. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and nothing made her happier than having her family together.
She taught second and third grade at Saint Frances Cabrini School for 28 years. Pat truly enjoyed teaching children and stayed connected to many students and families over the years. Former students often remembered her kindness and encouragement long after leaving her classroom.
Pat and Tom spent many wonderful years as members of Oakbrook Golf Club, where they built lasting friendships and shared a love of the game of golf. Pat especially enjoyed watching and supporting her grandchildren as they participated in junior golf, taking great pride and joy in their accomplishments.
Her Catholic faith was an important part of her life. She cared deeply about her family and was always there to listen, help, or simply spend time together. She enjoyed holidays, family dinners, and the everyday moments that brought people together.
She is survived by her children Joe Habersetzer, Jeff Habersetzer (Elizabeth), and Susan Habersetzer; her grandchildren Josh Habersetzer (Laura), Jennie Schwartzer (Zac), Jeffrey Habersetzer (Emma), Ryan Habersetzer, and Joey Habersetzer; her great-grandchildren Brynnlee Moore, Rylie Schwartzer, Saylor Schwartzer, and Lucia Jo Schwartzer; and a fifth great-grandchild — her first great-grandson — expected later this year by Jeffrey and Emma.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Habersetzer; her parents, Ernest and Luella Waller; her daughter-in-law Tracie Habersetzer; her daughter-in-law Mindy Habersetzer; and other family and friends who passed before her.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to her loving caregivers, Maria, Alisia, and Leah, whose compassion, kindness, and devoted care brought comfort and dignity to Pat in her final years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat’s memory to St. Frances Cabrini School.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Pat’s life will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Church on Monday, June 1st at 10:30 A.M. with a reception to follow.
She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
