Patricia Ann Goodhind's Obituary
Patricia A. (Hill) Goodhind of DuPont, Washington died August 9, 2017 after a brief illness. Pat was born to Dorothy E. (Koch) and Lloyd S. Hill on April 19, 1933 in Greenfield, Massachusetts. She attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from Greenfield High School at age 17. On February 26, 1952 Pat became a career soldier's wife, marrying Gilbert H. Goodhind of Amherst, MA in Olive Bridge, New York. At the time of their marriage, Gil had already served 3 years in the US Navy during WW II, and in the Army during the Korean War. Pat followed him to England, Germany and finally to Fort Lewis, Washington with 3 children in tow.
Pat was a banker. She was with the Girl Scouts for more than 50 years, eventually working on the financial management committee for the Girl Scouts of Western Washington. Gil retired in 1973 after 24 years of military service and worked an additional 15 years in civil service. Pat and Gil became the first residents of Northwest Landing, Dupont WA. Pat volunteered in many capacities, including at Madigan Army Medical Center, Friends of the Library, and the community advisory committee for Intel.
Pat is survived by daughter Doreen E. Morris (Dan), Lawrence J. Goodhind (Colleen), grandchildren Mark J. Robuck (Karen), Jennifer E. Morris (Zack), Evan M. Philippi-Goodhind, William D. Morris (Terri), and great-grandchildren Ian Gilbert, Nathan Leo, Samuel James, and Joel Daniel. She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert H. Goodhind MSG (ret), son Ronald G. Goodhind, her parents, her sister Ruth, and brothers James and John.
In keeping with Pat's wishes, there will be no local service. Interment will be at Green River Cemetery, Greenfield MA sometime in the spring of 2018. Remembrances may be made to the charity of one's choice.
