Patricia Deal's Obituary
Patricia (Pat) Deal of Lakewood passed away peacefully on March 11, 2018. She was born on March 25, 1932 in Reading, Penn. to Jasper and Mae Eisenbise. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert Deal, whom she married in 1955 in Jackson Township, N.J. Pat graduated from Shillington High School in 1950 and Albright College in Penn. in 1954 with a degree in home economics. She was a former home economics supervisor with the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company, and during 1956-57, Pat was an extension home economist with the Pennsylvania Dept. of Agriculture. She was also a home economics instructor at Penn State University. In 1958, the Air Force transferred the family to Washington state, where they made their last home in Lakewood. She received her masters from Pacific Lutheran University in 1978. Pat taught in Franklin Pierce School District and then spent 21 years with Clover Park School District, where she held several administrative positions. She retired from Clover Park Technical College as vice president of student services. During Pat’s career, she received many awards including Who’s Who of American Women and was a recipient of United Way’s Community Service Award. She was also president of the Washington Association of Vocational Administrators. Pat and her husband enjoyed retirement, traveling in their RV, going on cruises and playing Pinnacle with close friends. They loved watching their grandkids in their sporting events and activities. Pat is survived by her three sons Bob (Leslie), David, and Jim (Dara); grandchildren Tara, Scott (Shanley), Lauren, Kenny, Tara; and great granddaughter Danica. The Deal family would like to thank the staff at Narrows Glen for the care and support they gave Pat. A memorial service will be held at the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 27 at 10 a.m. Pat will be inurned next to her husband at Tahoma National Cemetery.
