Patricia Ann Arthur (Goodhue)'s Obituary
Patricia Ann Arthur (Goodhue) was born January 18, 1931 to Maude and John Goodhue of Buhl, ID. She moved to Tacoma, WA where she met her love, Robert Arthur. They were married on July 1, 1949 at First Baptist Church in Tacoma. They settled down and had three children; Michael Arthur, Steven Arthur (wife Anna), and Kathryn Arthur. She worked for many years in accounting/bookkeeping for a dentist at Western State, DAHA, and Puyallup Radiology. Pat and Bob then retired and tried their knack at RV life and traveled the world until they were promoted to grandparents when they moved back into Tacoma. She had two granddaughters, Melissa Thorsnes (husband Joshua) and Amanda Dunham (husband Robert). While in her retirement years she kept busy volunteering for organizations like Caring for Kids making hats and blankets (over 500 in a year) and collecting food, making blankets for the sick for St. Andrews Episcopal Church, and over ten years of rocking babies and making hats for Tacoma General in NICU, she was also a proud member of the knitting guild of Lakewood, WA. Any friend of Pat knew she was an avid knitter, baker, and worked tirelessly for the organizations she volunteered for. After Robert's passing in 1993, Pat continued to live her life to the fullest traveling and spending time with family and friends. Pat was blessed to meet her first great grandchild, William Dunham, in 2016. Pat passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 17, 2017 in Tacoma, WA at 86 and a half years young. In lieu of flowers her family would like for any donations to be made to Caring for Kids of Lakewood, WA, or St. Andrews in Pat's honor. We wish to thank the ICU nurses and care staff of Tacoma General and "the boys" of Engine 16 for their care and compassion before her passing. A memorial service will be held on September 30, 2017 at 2pm at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Tacoma, WA. Please join us to celebrate her life and share your memories.
