Patricia Ann McLeod's Obituary
Pat was born in Omaha, Nebraska and passed away in Tacoma, Washington at the age of 70. At the age of 12, she moved to Tacoma. She performed as a baton twirler at Tacoma Roller Bowl for many years. She graduated from Clover Park H.S. in 1957, followed by Business School, then went to work for Tacoma Screw Products. In 1958 she met her husband Donald (Don) McLeod. They were engaged in Dec. 1958 and married on July 31, 1959. She spent many years traveling and supporting her husband's racing career, and in later years street rodding with her husband until she was diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension disease in 2005.
She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, daughters Tammi Riley and Sheri Letzring (Mark Faul), grandchildren Jacob, Jaclynn, Taylor and Taryn, sister Janice (Jim) Rendell , brother Phillip (Diane) Johnson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Helen and stepfather John Stanton. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She placed her family above all else.
There will be a private graveside service on July 31, 2009. A gathering to celebrate and honor her life will be held at the McLeod's house on August 1st from 1 to 6pm for family and friends. Bring your favorite food dish. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association www.phassociation.com in her name to help support research for the debilitating and fatal disease that took her from us.
