Ozella Lewis' Obituary
Mother Lewis had two children, Bobbie and Larry. She cherished her family. She enjoyed helping her children and grandchildren in any way. Last year on May 23, 2023, she was blessed to have five generations around her to love on her at 96 years young.
When she first arrived in Tacoma, she joined JESUS SAVES on “K” Street. It is now Allen AME Church. The first time she and husband, Odell visited St. John Baptist Church they decided that was where they wanted to be. They joined St. John under the leadership of Dr. J.A. Boles, Sr. She was a member until she relocated to Texas in 1995.
She never met a stranger. She would start a conversation with anyone.
Her husband, Odell Lewis; Son, Larry Banks; her parents; grandparents, Uncle’s, Aunts, and siblings preceded her in death.
To Commemorate Mother Lewis’ homegoing and to cherish her memories, she leaves a daughter; Bobbie Coleman; Grand-Kids, Charles Coleman, Michael Banks, Chariese Banks, Great-Grand-Kids; Carvin Coleman, Kieandre Banks, Sidney Banks, Cennady and Calista Coleman and one Great-Great Grandson, Cam’ren Coleman.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2023 in New Salem Baptist Church, 5446 S. Birmingham Street, Tacoma, WA 98409. The family will have a viewing at the Church one hour prior to service, from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM in Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood. Repast will be immediately following the graveside at Watson Signature Event Center, 11521 Bridgeport Way SW, Lakewood, WA 98499
