On behalf of 230 Federal Correctional Officers at Kent Maximum Security Institution in Agassiz, British Columbia, Canada, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to all the families, fellow officers, and the community.
To the families; be strong in the belief that your mother/father, wife/husband and sister/brother gave their lives to protect all of you and gave their lives so that you would remain safe.
To all fellow officers; there is no explanation which can give you any kind of true closure to this tragedy. To that end, I extended our deepest sympathies to you all. Brothers and Sisters in uniform become an integral part of all of us in the law enforcement community. I wish you all the best with your recovery.
The PRIDE, SOLIDARITY and DIGNITY that these officers pledged to the community and the flag, speaks volumes of the commitment of these officers. Words cannot describe who these officers were; only shed a glimmer into their lives.
Many a night we call on the police, fire or ambulance to keep us safe but seldom do we take the time to thank them on a daily basis. I would encourage you all to take more time out of your day to honour the fallen, and the serving members as they give us the freedoms we enjoy.
Respectfully
Brian Zimmerman
