WOW! Thanks so much! You've helped me to be a good man... Thanks Grandpa. Love you. Tommy
What a great picture of Oscar - it captures the look I saw many times (just before he would say something funny!) when he used to come to the Tacoma Water permit counter. I would always look forward to seeing him come to inquire about water services - he was truly a warm and caring person with a great sense of humor who could tell the most facinating stories. He is greatly missed. Karen Gerken
My Mom, rest her soul, thought the world of Oscar. She rented an apartment in one of the many that he owned. I am sure they are, once again, sharing stories, up in heaven and my Mom probably wrapped him in one of her beautiful afghans upon his arrival. Peace to the family and wishing you smiles and laughter to replace the tears in the future when you remember him. B Monroe

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Oscar. I had the pleasure of talking to him a couple of times at his restaurant. May he rest in peace and my thoughts and prayers are with his family

I had the privilege of interviewing Oscar about his life just about a year ago. I also visited and talked to him at Narrows Glen. He had such an interesting life and told so many stories about his childhood and his work in the fishing and construction business.
His interview is part of the Scandinavian Immigrant Experience Collection at Pacific Lutheran University where many will soon be able to listen to Oscar talk about his life.
