ORLYS V. FISH
Long-time Tacoma resident Orlys Vivian Fish died on May 6, 2009. She was born on July 6, 1922, in Oslo, MN, to Lars and Helen Lofthus. After graduation from Oslo High School in 1940, she met Erwin Fish and they were married on May 11, 1943. While Erwin served in Europe during WW II, she lived and worked in Tacoma. When the war ended, they started a family and built a home in south Tacoma. She lived in that home until her 80th birthday when she moved to Everett. Orlys was preceded in death by her husband Erwin and sisters Geneva, Luella, and Lillian. Survivors include her brother Leeward and sister Patricia, both of Oslo, MN; son Randolph of Tacoma; daughters Karen of Spokane and Nancy of Arlington; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A service will be held in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA, on Saturday, May 16, at 2 p.m.
