Orestes Kinlow's Obituary
Orestes (Restee) Kinlow
Orestes (Restee) Kinlow was the fifth child born to the late Superintendent Nathaniel Sr. and Jessie (Ellington) Kinlow on September 24, 1943 in Dumas, Arkansas. To this union were born eleven children of whom two preceded her in death.
Orestes received her formal education from the public school system in Dumas, Arkansas and Tacoma, Washington, graduating from Stadium High School. She also attended Olympic Community College in Bremerton, Washington and Highline College in Des Moines, Washington and Cornish School of Arts in Seattle, Washington.
She was raised in the church and professed Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and attended her father's church, Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Bremerton, Washington until relocating to Los Angeles, California in 1972. She loved singing with her family (the Kinlow Singers, who traveled throughout Washington and Oregon ministering the gospel in song).
She was a formal employee of The Boeing Company and worked for Delta Airlines until her retirement.
Orestes loved gardening, flowers, shopping, reading her daily scripture devotionals and other wholesome books, art, cooking, and watching old, classic movies.
Her laughter was contagious and will be affectionately missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory four sisters Carnetta (Eugene) Hoskins of Federal Way, Washington, Verleda (James) Watson of Tacoma, Washington, Dorothy Kinlow of Seattle, Washington, Robbie Kinlow Rogers of Tacoma, Washington; four brothers Joel Kinlow of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Nathaniel (Brenda) Kinlow, Jr. of Port Orchard, Washington, Benjamin (Katherine) Kinlow of Renton, Washington, and John Kinlow of Tacoma, Washington; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and family friends.
