Ora Ray Vian's Obituary
Ora Ray Vian July 5, 1920 - Sept. 14, 2008 Orie passed away quietly Sept. 14th after a long struggle with COPD. He was born in Van Wert County, Ohio, the oldest of 9 children. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary Virginia (Ginny), 4 sisters, Marvel Marts, Vida Good-Meyers, Kathleen Jones, and Juanita Stover, 2 grandchildren, Brenda Vian and Kimberly Liester, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, Ginny's children, Debbie Benson, granddaughter Kiely, Gerry Benson (Kathleen), granddaughter Kaitlyn, and many nieces and nephews. Orie was preceded in death by his first wife Helen (Lathrup), his son YNC John R. Vian, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. He served in the Army in the Philippines during WWII. He was a woodworker by profession and enjoyed creating and making things in his spare time. He loved the ocean, central WA, and anywhere his Ford truck and 5th wheel would go. Orie was an honest, dear, and strong-minded man who loved to play cribbage and make his special "crib boards." He will be greatly missed. At his request there will be no services.
