We celebrate the beautiful life of Olivia Hinton, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who passed away peacefully at home on March 10th, 2025.
Born on February 20th, 1927, in Providence, RI, Olivia was the third of seven children born to John and Maria Del Gizzo. She was proud of her Italian heritage, which shone through in her love for family, food, and tradition.
In 1953, Olivia moved to Washington, where she built a home filled with love, warmth, and laughter. She was the devoted wife of the late John H. Hinton, with whom she shared 61 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2007. Together, they embraced a passion for travel, exploring the world and creating cherished memories along the way.
Olivia was the proud mother of her children: Lydia Graham, Maria Smith, John Hinton, and the late JoAnne Boyer. She was also preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Charles Larson. Her family was her greatest joy, and her legacy is carried on by her seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She cherished family holidays and road trips, sharing her love for bingo and crochet with those she held dear. Famous for her amazing lasagna, Olivia found joy in arts and crafts, cooking, and travel. She spent countless joyful hours working in her yard and crocheting beautiful pieces, spreading happiness wherever she went.
Her generous spirit, hardworking nature, creativity, loyalty, and determination touched the lives of all who knew her. As we remember Olivia, let us celebrate her remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
