Oliver "Jim" Cookson's Obituary
Oliver “Jim” Cookson was born March 14, 1932 in New York and died peacefully with his wife by his side on June 4, 2016 at 84 years of age. He believed in Jesus Christ and trusted him for this life and the life to come so we are comforted to know he is now resting in the everlasting arms. He served 23 years in the Air Force, retiring in 1978 when he started a water heater – plumbing business which he kept up to some degree until January 2016.
He was preceded in death by son Jamie Cookson and daughter Kathy Fieber and survived by his wife of 38 years Victoria, "Tori", his brother William Cookson, sisters Joan Lightner and Agnes Hanlon; sons and daughters: Kelly Reiten, Patrick Cookson, Damien Cookson, Kirstie Hinson, Keith Cookson, Olivia Cookson, Darcy Kipnis and Naomi Coughran. In addition to many grandchildren who will miss his big hugs and spellbinding stories about his youth in Boston and his military career.
Jim will be buried at Tahoma National Cemetery. There will be a Memorial Service and Reception at the Mountain View Funeral Home Aspen Chapel on Friday June 17th at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow in the Mountain View Funeral Home Willow Room. Family and friends kindly invited.
