Olinda Alvarado's Obituary
Olinda (Rutt) Alvarado Age 70, passed away Dec. 21, 2007, in Tacoma, WA. Born in Yakima, WA, she was a long-time Tacoma resident and attended Stadium High School. Olinda had a compassionate nature and an extremely strong sense of family, making a positive impact on all those who knew her. She had a strong belief in the political process that was instilled in her by her parents, who immigrated to the United States from Russia. She had a passion for the culinary arts, particularly German cuisine. Jovial and caring, she will be sorely missed by all. She is survived by her husband Santiago Alvarado, daughters Olinda Darnstaedt, Elaina Henderson and Camille St. Onge, sons Charles Henderson, Vaughn Henderson and David Wilson, stepdaughter Cindy Sloan, 23 grandchildren, and "numerous" other family members. A celebration of life will be held December 29, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church, 1108 Columbia Ave., Fircrest, WA. Donations can be made to Santiago Alvarado
