Ole Fred Forgey's Obituary
Ole was born January 18, 1916 in Clayton, WA. He passed away peacefully on January 29, 2006 at his Puyallup home with his family by his side. Ole spent most of his younger years in Dupont, WA. He graduated from Lincoln HS in 1933. Ole served in the Navy as a Seabee in the 76th Construction Battalion on Guam during WW II. He was honorably discharge on February 17, 1946 having become an expert rifleman and steelworker. Ole made a 32 years career as a Longshoreman, and was a member of ILWU 23. He retired in August 1978. Ole enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, wood working, gardening and playing cribbage. Ole was preceded in death by his parents James W. and Hilda Forgey; his oldest brother Roy Forgey and his beloved wife of 50 years Myrtle Scoggins Forgey. He is lovingly remembered by his son Robert J. Cavin (Magda) of Westminster, CA and daughter Beverly J. Cavin Benson of Tacoma, WA; his brothers: James H. Forgey (Pat) of Puyallup, WA and Gordon Forgey (Trinita) of Bremerton, WA and sister-in-law Martha OÂ'Neil of Eatonville, WA. Missing their Grandfather will be Ken A. Thomas (Leilani), Steven E. Thomas (Julie) and Keith T. Thomas (Kelly) all of Tacoma, WA, Fred Cavin (Kathi) and Birgit Cavin in California, Peter Cavin (Tanya) of Oregon, nine great-grandchildren, several in-laws, nephews, and nieces. Missing their friend, his caregiver Dorothy Roddewig, and cribbage partner Harold Anderson. Visitation will be from 12-9PM, Friday, February 10, 2006 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 11, 2006 in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center.
