Ola B. DewSunrise December 9, 1924Sunset June 5, 2003Mama Ola Dew was born to Alonzo Thomas and Anna Jones Thomas, in Ft. Worth Texas. Ola was a resident of Washington State since 1942. Our Lord and Savior called upon her after illness. She was baptized in Ft. Worth, Texas, a member of Church of God and Christ, She joined St. John Baptist Church in Tacoma many years ago which she attended as a faithful member until her illness. Her love for family and friends will be forever missed. Ola worked at Todd Shipyard in Seattle, Woods Nursing home in Tacoma, and P & B Food Service at Ft. Lewis. Her hobbies included, bingo, gardening, plants & flowers, frog collecting, clothes and shoes and of course cooking for friends and family. To know Ola was to love her. She always had a smile and a joke, and her love for family, friends, always wanting to help others by giving of herself will surly be missed. She leaves behind to morn 2 sons, Howard Rodgers of Mt Rainier, and Benard Dew of Olympia; daughters, Harriet Williams, Ola Dean Miller, and Gail Dew of Seattle, Shirlee (Dew) Lowe of Tacoma; three granddaughters, Jackie Williams, Chalice Johnson, and Adrienne Faulkner; 5 grandsons, Anthoney Moore, Brandon Lowe, Elvin Maxwell Rodgers, Benard Armstrong Dew, and Andre Faulkner; three great-grandchildren, Derek William Grant, Syan Rai Moore and Quenton Johnson; four sisters, Dixie Bell, Ann Cortez and Madge Anderson of Ft. Worth Texas, and Carol Solomon of Denver CO; with nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends. Visitation will be from 1pm until 9pm, Sunday, June 15, 2003 at Mt. View Funeral Home.Services for Ola B. Dew will be held at St. John Baptist Church, on Monday June 16, 2003, at 11:00am, 2001 So. Â"JÂ" St., Tacoma, Washington. Interment will be at Mt View Memorial Park, Tacoma, WA.Condolences can be sent to the Family at: 1217 So. 9th Tacoma, Washington 98405.
