Norman Eric Taylor's Obituary
On November 16, 2013 in the loving care of his family, my beloved son, our Brother and our Dad, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Uncle Norman Eric Taylor departed from this earth unto everlasting age to live with the King forever. Norman was born on October 29, 1962 in Lawton, Oklahoma and at a very early age, while residing in Lawton, he was baptized at Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church in the presence of his now deceased Grandmother Mrs. Alneda Story. When he was nine years of age, he relocated with his family to Tacoma, Washington growing up on the east-side and hill-top of Tacoma.
Later on in years, with his brothers, he moved to Spokane, Washington where he met the love of his life and married her and of this union two children were born. His passion was in the clothing line and while residing in Spokane he invested in his livelihood “Taylorettes” retailing women lingerie. Joyfully he and Tanisha Marie hosted local events to allocate business and often times, he conveyed he had great times just honestly working to achieve one of his notions, a business of his own. He also said, while hosting those events, he encountered a diversity of people, some that were supportive of his philosophies and others that shared valuable information and he respected each one for their inspirations.
It was while keeping in touch with Spokane communities, he procured an ice-cream truck to employ the youth of family and friends with the belief that he was imparting positive direction as well as constructive activity during the summer months, as well as encouraging each child to be a standing ovation while serving in the their community. Norman continuously expressed to our youth that an education is the key to a life of achievements, as well as their key to driving those bonus cars; and oh boy what joy he had reciting tales about those children and sometimes adults driving that ice-cream truck. He said his real joy of the ice-cream vending, was being able to support our youth as well as teaching them to honestly strive and become positive citizens in their community and hopefully that each child continues to read good books and pursue an education to its highest standards.
Norman expressed his love for the Lord and had faith when his time ended on this earth, he was going to see the King and said that his love for Family was because; he knew that Jesus loved him. He said he was going to a place called heaven and in heaven the streets are made of gold and those golden streets will lead him to his loved ones he so missed and this gave him comfort knowing that his loved ones would be there to receive him in the King’s Mansion. While on his sick-bed or via telephone, he always requested prayers, and after devotions he would hum ever so softly like-wise our Mother “Yes Lord”.
Fond memories of our loved one “Bugs” as all affectionately called him, will be cherished by his much-loved family, Mrs. Geraldine Taylor “Mother”, Tishawn, Denise Marie and Alea, Alisha, Augustand Titus, Erza his little delightful one, Candace, Brandon, Andrew Thomas; ten grandchildren, one great-granddaughter. His sisters and brothers, Cheryl, Thomas T. and Thomas C., Bart (Sue), Paula (Jerry), Elaine (Ron), Marion, Joyce and Angela (Ken) Along with a host of nieces and nephews he adored and likewise his cousins and aunts Alice (Ralph), Silvia. His much-loved Marcia Red Thunder, his friend for life Brian, as well as Vivian and all of those he’s encountered in his life-time and remained gracious with.
