Norman "Lew" Sellers' Obituary
Norman Lewis (Lew) Sellers was born September 11, 1941 in Elma, WA, and passed away April 27, 2026 in Tacoma, WA, at the age of 84.
After spending his youth in Elma, Lew worked in Olympia for Washington State Department of Licensing where he met Karen Merzoian and they married in November, 1963. In 1972 Karen and Lew moved to Kent where they raised their children, Tammy and Bob.
Lew continued his career in information systems and retired from Pierce County in 2006 after 22 years of service.
Lew had a big personality and a positive impact on many people. He was passionate about his family, community, music, computers, cars, and hockey. Lew volunteered much of his time to those interests.
Karen and Lew lived in Kent for 48 years before moving to Tacoma in 2020.
Lew is survived by his wife, Karen Sellers, daughter Tammy Haywood (Buck), son Bob Sellers (Christine), grandchildren, Justin Hill-Sellers, Chad Haywood (Olivia), Ashley Hoffman (Levi) and Celina Sellers, great grand daughter, Ella Hoffman and his sister Kathy Abernathy Robinson. His brother, Barnie Sellers, preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 19, at ShoWare Center 625 W James St, Kent, WA 98032.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Johnson/Stoddard/Osness Family Scholarship at Kent Community Foundation.
