Norman James McWeeny's Obituary
Norman James McWeeny Was born September 14, 1960 in Seattle, Washington and died March 26, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 18 1/2 years Manuela (Mandy) McWeeny, his mother Martha and father Robert McWeeny, daughter Christina and sons Joshua and William McWeeny, grandson Collin Jenkins and granddaughter Hayliegh McWeeny, mother-in-law Maria Groux, sister and brother-in-law Debra and James Belford. He is also survived by his brother Michael and his wife Linda McWeeny, sister Kim Fontes, sister Kyle Studebaker, brother Shawn and his wife Katharine McWeeny, sister Patti McWeeny, sister Robyn and husband Martin Fernandes and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews throughout the United States and abroad. Norman was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved the outdoors, especially golfing, hiking, camping and most recently boating. But his greatest joy was starting a Non-Profit, Charitable, Clean and Sober Family Community Center called "Thee Turning Point" in Tacoma, Washington. His dream was to give something back to the community, and his vision in turn helped many hundreds of people in recovery find a warm place to hang out; sometimes just as a place to get a hug or lend a compassionate ear. Norman's loving and compassionate nature touched many lives and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorial services will be held 4:00 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2008 in the Aspen Chapel at Mt. View Funeral Home (253-584-0252), 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW., Lakewood, WA 98499. Reception will follow immediately in the reception hall to celebrate Norm's life. In lieu of flowers, you may make a charitable donation in Norman's name to Spirit Ministries, Harborstone Credit Union.
