Norma Jean Royal's Obituary
Obituary for Norma Jean Royal (née Goodhue; aka Franich)
A sad day, July 16, 2017, when Norma Jean Royal passed from this earth to journey beyond to a sanctuary of love. She was half way through her ninety third year!
Norma Jean (known to most as “Jean”) was born to John and Maude Goodhue on December 31, 1923 and grew up in Buhl, Idaho on her family’s farm. She left Buhl for Tacoma, WA in 1942, and there she met and married Andrew R. Franich of Tacoma. After many years in Tacoma, as a homemaker and working in various positions from the Tacoma Health Department to the Bethel School District, she retired from an injury and moved to Palm Springs, CA. It was in Palm Springs where she met and married William F. Royal, the love of her life.
Norma Jean leaves a son (Brian John Franich of Olympia, WA), twin daughters who were a loving handful for Jean from birth to death (Sharon Kristensen Deméré of Menlo Park, CA and Karen Franich of Las Vegas, NV), a younger sister (Patricia Arthur of Tacoma, WA), spouses and step-children of her children, nieces and nephews.
Her family wishes are that you honor Norma Jean by passing on a kindness to another person.
Gravesite services will be held on Tuesday, July 25th at 1:30 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery on Steilacoom Blvd.
