Norma Cayetano Fernandez's Obituary
Norma Cayetano Fernandez, 85, of West Seattle, WA passed away on January 4, 2020. Norma was born on June 5, 1935 to parents Benito and Bituin Cayetano. She was the fourth child of a brood of thirteen children. She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Moises Fernandez, her sons Omar and Ivan Fernandez, and daughters Marissa Beltran and Melodee Chrise as well as their spouses and children. Norma graduated from The Philippine Women’s University in Manila with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She became a prolific piano teacher who taught music throughout the years not just to all her family and most relatives, but to more than a hundred students of all ages. She orchestrated several choir groups to share her gift of music. Norma also displayed her love of life shared with her family and friends. She actively played badminton and showed her competitive spirit in bowling tournaments winning trophies in different tournaments. She was also a sports fan of her team favorites the Seattle Supersonics, the Seattle Mariners, and the Seattle Seahawks.
Norma’s devotion to our blessed Virgin Mary showed through her dedicated service with the Legion of Mary in West Seattle and her fervent devotion to the Holy Rosary. Norma was always available to her family and friends through thick and thin and she enjoyed spending quality time with them. Her smile and laughter touched all those who she came to know.
May her most high keep her in her arms and watch over her until we meet again.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 9:30 AM in the Aspen Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home located at 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499.
