Nonah Lee Monroe was born on June 20th, 1954 in Demopolis, Alabama to Robert Monroe and Nonah Lee Bishop. She passed away on November 22nd, 2025 in Tacoma, Washington.
Nonah was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Sandra Kemp. She is survived by her sons Julius (Joy) Monroe, Willie (Arianna) Monroe, and Kevin (Shawanda) Monroe; her grandkids: Janella Monroe, Nonah-Lee Monroe, Julius Monroe IV, JeiCi Monroe, Katerria Eaton, and Dymond Monroe; and great-grandchildren Ashton Eaton and Kash Eaton; her brothers: Bert Williams of Utah, Alabama and Charles Abrams of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; her sisters Teresa Monroe, Willa Dean Monroe, Mamie Jackson, Ollia Fountain all of Demopolis, Alabama, Bernice Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, and Pam Williams Demopolis, Alabama; her best friend Doris Thrasher in Demopolis, Alabama, and a whole host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
