Nikisha Shanta Twitty's Obituary
Nikisha Shanta Twitty was born on June 2, 1985 at the Lakewood General Hospital in Lakewood Washington to the union of Cornell and Baren Twitty. She was the second of two children.
Nikisha attended McKinley Elementary and graduated from Mt. Tahoma High School. During this time, she was involved in ROTC, Dance, Afro Pageant and a mentoring program called Teens Against Tobacco Use. She also participated in another program called Safe Streets from which she received a scholarship toward college.
Nikisha received numerous awards and certificates for her many outreach activities. She was involved in step and choir at school and praise dance and choir at church. Nikisha completed some nursing courses at Tacoma Community College and began a career at Economic Auto Glass where she learned fundamentals for her career at Safelite where she worked as a Manager at the Renton branch.
Nikisha Shanta Twitty was loved by all and her outstanding personality and vibrant smile were always ready to brighten the day. Her constant ability to give unselfishly of herself made her a remarkable woman. Her unchanging support and care for those of all ages made her a dear daughter, granddaughter, aunt, niece, cousin and friend.
Nikisha departed this life on Wednesday July 26, 2017 at her home. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Anderson. She leaves to cherish her memory, her father, Cornell Twitty and her mother Baren Twitty both of Tacoma, her grandmother, Lucille Johnson of Seattle, her nephew, Robert Jr. of Oakland, CA, her many sisters and brothers and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins,nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday August 5, 2017 11:00am at the Mountain View Valley Chapel 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW in Lakewood with a reception immediately following at the Lakewood Community Center 9112 Lakewood Dr. SW. 98499.
