Nickolas Spiro Sakellis' Obituary
Nickolas S. Sakellis, the husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle to many loved ones, sadly passed away on November 27, 2022.
Nickolas was born in Nisyros (a small island in Greece) in 1944 and his family moved to Astoria, New York when he was 10 years old. He joined the Navy in 1964 and was stationed in Japan where he met his wife, Yukiko. They moved to New York for a short time before relocating to Maryland where his sister, Irene Sklias, and her family lived. His children, Spiro, Anna and Anthony, were born in Maryland.
Nickolas worked for the post office and Safeway after leaving the Navy in 1970. In 1974, the family moved to Tacoma, Washington to be closer to Yukiko’s sisters, Miyako and Mizu and their husbands, Billy Fleming and August Boree. His youngest son, Christopher, was born in Tacoma a few years later. Nickolas ventured into real estate for many years and later took a sales position with Sears until he retired.
Nickolas had a deep spiritual relationship with Jesus. He loved to share his testimony and wanted to spread the word to everyone. Nickolas was a prayer warrior and one of his accomplishments was passing out his prayer cards and bibles to so many.
Nickolas truly loved everyone he crossed paths with and he relentlessly prayed for our salvation. His love was unconditional. God gave us one life and one life only. We should fulfill all of our dreams, never settle for less, spread love and not hate and be the best version of who we were born to be.
May the light of Jesus and the Angels bring Peace and Salvation to Nickolas. May he rest in peace knowing that his soul belongs to GOD and GOD only. No demon, no devil, no principality, no evil spirit has access to his light and salvation. As he wished, he can finally go home and rest. All those that he loved will be reunited with him again in Paradise one day. Heaven gained another angel.
Ecclesiastes 12:7—“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it”
