Nick Honzik's Obituary
Nicholas Honzik, age 40, of Lakewood Washington passed away peacefully September 7th,
2020. Born on January 25, 1980 in Santa Rosa, California, Nick was a strength and conditioning
coach for 1st Special Forces Group USA. Nick is survived by his wife Nita Daligdig-Honzik and
son Jasper Honzik. He is also survived by his mother Sam Rand of TN, his father David Sheppard
and brother Christopher Sheppard of FL. Nick graduated from Austin Peay State University
with his bachelors degree in health and human performance, later returning to receive his
masters degree in business. Nick's path of coaching and mentoring took him from his Alma
Mater to joint base Lewis-McChord where he has help push, strengthen, and better both young
athletes and elite operators. Nick had a gift and a passion for helping those around him see
and achieve their true potential, building meaningful and long-lasting relationships along the way.
Nick's indomitable will, unflappable strength, and bright smile will be sorely missed.. A memorial
service will be held at Fort Steilacoom park, Sunday September 13, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of
flowers the family welcomes donations to a college fund that has been set up in the name of
Nick's son Jasper.
