Nicholas Hartman's Obituary
NICHOLAS HARTMAN
Alzheimer’s finally won the battle on November 17, 2013. He passed peacefully in the loving atmosphere at Pioneer Place Memory Haven. Nick, son of Nick Sr. and Barbara Hartman was born in 1933 and raised in Tacoma. He is survived by his wife Bette; son Nick (Kim) Hartman; daughter, Jacqui (Larry) Belus; granddaughters Sarah (Jason) and Kristel (Garret), and 4 great-grandchildren.
After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1952, he married his high school sweetheart, Bette. Nick was always proud of being a journeyman machinist although he was jack of all trades, and had many skills. He was an I’ll-do-it myself guy and built his own homes, repaired his own autos and never backed off from a challenge. In 1957 he was delighted to get a job at Hooker Chemicals where he spent the rest of his working days, and making many lifelong friends. Nick loved life to the fullest enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycle riding, square dancing, boating, and in later years snow birding and cruises. Most of all he dearly loved his family and he will always have a place in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association. Western and Central WA State, North Tower, 100 W. Harrison Street N200, Seattle, WA 98119 or Alz.org.
