I've just yesterday learned the fate of this special young man. My son, Matt Colleps, and Nick became close friends at Niu Valley Middle School in 1999. Nick was at our house often, even after we moved to Mililani. When he came over I knew I had to make a double batch of spaghetti because Nick would eat one batch all by himself! Through high school the two didn't see each other as often, but remained good friends. After graduation they had some fun times together until Nick joined The Marines and Matt started at Hawaii Pacific University. Life and distance creeped in leaving sporadic contact between them.
Nick was a very polite young man and I would inquire of my son about him. We have special thoughts and love for Nick and his family. He will be missed as we remember him growing up. Condolences to one and all 💐🌺💖
