Nettye Jean Knoop's Obituary
Nettye Jean (Brown) Knoop, born October 27th 1936 in Decatur, Alabama, she passed away on Sunday, August 22nd, at home in Fircrest, Washington following six years of battling cancer. Her husband of 53 years, Paul, was with her at the time, and she leaves 4 adult children: Karla Knoop, residing in Salt Lake City, Utah, Robert Knoop in Kamas, Utah, Julie Scott in Safety Harbor, Florida, and Lisa Knoop in Seattle, Washington. Nettye and Paul also have one granddaughter, Kira MacKnight, also of Salt Lake City. Nettye and family traveled extensively while Paul was in the U S Army, and she was very active in community projects, from Girl and Boy Scouts to volunteer organizations. A great cook, she edited an Officers Wives Club cookbook while at Fort Lewis, and compiled a cookbook of treasured family recipes for her family. In remembrance, donations may be made to Franciscan Hospice and Palliative Care, University Place Washington, or other charity of your choice. Rest in peace; we will miss you.
