Neshma Lillian Adams' Obituary
Neshma (Nicki) L. Adams was reunited with her beloved husband Frank and sons Michael and Mark in eternity on Saturday February 28, 2015 at 10:38 a.m. She was born In Memphis, Tennessee December 29, 1924 to William and Margaret Hassan. She was the younger of two children. Her brother Sgt. Robert M. Hassan was tragically killed June 1, 1945 over Osaka, Japan. Neshma married Frank E. Adams December 16, 1945 after knowing each other for only 16 days. It was a love story for the ages. They were together for 63 years only to be separated by her husband’s passing. Neshma participated in a variety of activities over many years such as the National Guard Officers Wives Club, volunteered at the Western State Hospital for the American Red Cross, A Camp Fire Girl Leader and also served on the council. She was also involved in The Tacoma Town Hall Lecture Series, an organization that contributed to local charitable causes.
Nicki’s strong heartfelt faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ molded her values and convictions throughout her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother- in- law, grandmother and great grandmother, friend and loyal member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church since 1962. She had faithfully served as a Sunday School Teacher, assisting in the annual Rummage Sales and served as Director for the Altar Guild for many years.
Her hobbies included elaborate needle point tapestries, planting and caring for flowers in the spring and summer, most of all enjoying cooking, baking and entertaining family and friends in her home. She is survived by her daughter Dena G. Gomez and husband Gustavo, her Grandchildren: Jason, Joshua, Jonathan Purnhagen, Michael R. Adams and Amanda N. Rembiejewski. She was also blessed with 6 great grandchildren ages ranging from 6 months to 15 years.
A special viewing of Neshma is scheduled for March 6 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at Mt. View Funeral Home located in 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA. The memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church located on 10630 Gravelly Lake Drive S.W., Lakewood, Wash. 98499 at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015. We are also inviting friends and family to join us afterwards for a reception to honor and celebrate her life. Her final resting place will be next to her husband and eldest son at Spokane Memorial Garden Saturday March 14 with a grave side ceremony. In lieu of flowers we are asking to please donate and send remembrances to foundations like the Alzheimer organization, Wounded Warrior Project or Disabled Vets. Thank you
