Nelson Williams Sr.'s Obituary
Nelson Williams Sr., 86, was born on September 10, 1933 in Beaumont, Texas to Solomon Williams and Elizabeth Metoyer. He had five brothers; Warrenton, Solomon, Wardell, Frank, and Benny and one sister; Sandra who have all preceded in death.
Nelson Sr. served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years and received several honors and medals. During that time he met his wife, Harriet in San Diego, California where they loved each other from the first look and were joined in marriage on February 19, 1954.
Nelson Sr. and Harriet moved to Tacoma, Washington in 1963 where they raised four sons and four daughters. After Nelson Sr. retired from the U.S. Navy, he worked for Boeing for several years until he retired.
Nelson Sr. is survived by his wife of 66 years Harriet; his daughter Toya (Admiral); his daughter Veronica (Bob); his son Samuel (Tina); his daughter Schula; his son Nelson Jr.; his daughter Trudy; his son Jesse (Cher); nieces and nephews; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
Nelson Sr. is preceded in death by his son Teddy.
Nelson Sr. was very involved in his church at St. Rita’s and his Catholic faith was very important to him. He had the biggest heart and was such a giving person. He loved his family and his dogs very much. His greatest joy was being a grandfather and his wishes were to watch all of his grandchildren grow up. Nelson Sr. was loved by so many and he will truly be missed but never forgotten as the patriarch of the Williams Family.
