Nellie Mae Blair Madsen
Nellie, age 96, passed away on December 9, 2013, with her niece Patricia at her side. She was born in Vancouver, Washington on April 24, 1917, to Paul Blair and Clara Belle Batchelder Blair. She graduated as salutatorian, from Battleground High School, in 1938. She married Rasmus Madsen in 1941, and lived in Midland near Tacoma until 1960. She lived in various places in Tacoma, near her sister Alma. She moved to Bellevue in 2003, where she spent her final years.
Preceded in death by husband Rasmus in 1959, brothers Harvey and Donald, and sisters Alma and Laura. She is survived by nieces and nephews: Donna Monroe, Doris Wooten, Dale Dillinger, Patricia Baxter, Audrey Ruddock, Dennis Laine, Barbara Carter and Joanne Damman. Nellie was a sweet, gentle, compassionate woman, devoted to her family, church and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, at 2:00, at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, Bellevue. Arrangements by Mt. View Funeral Home.
