Nelda Childs Petersen's Obituary
Nelda Childs Petersen, 97, of Tacoma, WA passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 7, 2023.
Nelda was born February 19th, 1926 in Centerfield, Utah. She was the daughter of Darral David Childs and Lela Johanna(Christensen)Childs.
She married Carl LeRoy Petersen on September 28, 1946 in Evanston, Wyoming. They were later sealed together for eternity in the temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 25, 1963.
She is survived by daughter Dannel Tuck and her husband Jon, sons Dan Petersen and his wife Colleen, and Don Petersen and his wife Elizabeth. A host of 20 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Rulon Darrel Childs, Nedra Bird, and Wayne C. Childs. Also her husband and daughters Susan Pauley and Vicki Oldham, son-in-law George Oldham, grandson Kirk Petersen, and great-grandson Quinton Petersen.
The service to celebrate her life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Parkland on Saturday July 22nd at 11:00 AM with burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Lakewood, WA.
