Nelda Faye Hanson
Nelda was born April 7, 1934 in Seminole, Oklahoma to William and Nellie Darby. She passed away surrounded by her family on April 11, 2012 in Tacoma, Washington. She was a member of the Elks #174. She was an avid card player and loved to play Canasta with her club at the Fircrest Community Center. She worked for many doctors for over 30 years at Allenmore Hospital.
Nelda was preceded in death by her husband Theodore R. Hanson, Jr. and her sister Barbara L. Christofferson. She is survived by daughter Kimberly Lawrence (Hanson), brother William (Karen) Darby, sister Judith M. (Dave) Perry, and grandchildren Kyle Fish, Kevin Lawrence, and Kurtis Lawrence, and great-grandchild Ava Lawrence, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Franciscan Hospice and the staff of Manor Care Tacoma for the loving care they gave Nelda.
Viewing will be held from 10:00 AM -" 9:00 PM, Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 20, 2012 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel followed by graveside services at Sumner Cemetery. All are invited to a reception following the services.
