Naomi Roberts' Obituary
Naomi Roberts, age 76, a loving mother of six and the significant other of Johnny McQueen, passed away on the night of March 5, 2026.
Naomi was born on July 7, 1949, in Durant, Mississippi, but was a New Yorker at heart. She grew up alongside her five siblings and carried with her a deep sense of resilience and strength that guided her throughout her life. Naomi was deeply influenced by her three daughters and was proud of her son, Lawrence, who is a U.S. Army Military Veteran. She was a loving granmother--affectionately known as "Nana" to 12 grandchildren and to 14 great-grandchildren.
Naomi was known for her wonderful sense of humor and her unforgettable sayings that could brighten any room and make anyone laugh. She loved cooking and spending time in the kitchen with her daughters, preparing delicious meals for her family. She found joy in hosting beautifully decorated cookouts complete with delicious food and desserts, where she shared laughter, music, dancing, and song with her loved ones. "Mommy" also loved interior decorating and tending to her garden, where she planted beautiful flowers, fruits, and vegetables. These moments of joy, laughter, and togetherness are memories her family will cherish forever.
She is especially cherished by her daughters: Crystal, whom she lovingly nicknamed "Parlay"; Nikki, who she dearly called "Babydoll", and Stephanie, whom she affectionately called "Sweetie Pie", her sons, Lawrence, also known as "Boobie", and Robert, also known as "Ol Red"; and her grandchildren, Asha, D'Andre, Deniro, James, Joshua, Jayden, JR, Mekyhi, Deshan, Keishon, and Courtney, who adored her with all their hearts. You were a beautiful woman, loved by many.
