Nancy Ellen Petree's Obituary
Surrounded by her loving family, Nancy Ellen Petree passed away peacefully in her home, January 30, 2011. She was born in Tacoma, Washington on March 25, 1938 to Margaret Farley and Jim Foster. Nancy met and married the love of her life Carl (Pete) Petree on July 1, 1955. They were happily married for 55 years.
Nancy retired from Tower Lanes on April 15, 2000 after 33 very remarkable years. She was often referred to as Mrs. Towers Lanes. There she helped set up leagues; worked as a coach for the junior leagues, including the Learn to Bowl Program for Kids, adults, and the TCC bowling classes. In 2005, Nancy was inducted into the South Sound -Å"USBC- Hall of Fame. Her infectious smile and talent for teaching will never be forgotten. Not only did she love her bowling, she loved spending time with her family: Camping trips, antiquing, painting, the Seahawks, the Mariners, and attending her grandchildren's school and sporting events. Our very special yearly trips to Long Beach were never to be forgotten.
Nancy is survived by her husband Pete Petree, her loving sons Larry (Linda) and Joe (Joann), five wonderful grandchildren, Shannon, Michael, Westin, Jessica, and Clinton, and her two great grandsons Jackson and Issac. Nancy is also survived by her four living brothers and sisters along with many other adoring family and friends.
Services will be held Mountain View Funeral Home Celebration of Life Center/Aspen Chapel on Friday February 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin Thursday February 3rd from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and conclude Friday February 4th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Family would like to thank the Alzheimer's association and the Multicare Hospice for all of their loving care. Donations are welcome in lieu of flowers to the -Å"Kids Bowling for Kids Program- at Tower Lanes.
