Nancy A. Deutsch's Obituary
Nancy Anne Deutsch of Tacoma, WA died on April 12, 2019. She was born on September 24, 1929, the sixth of seven children to William Harvey Parker and Mary Elizabeth Youngberg in Eau Clair, Wisconsin. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Deutsch, daughter Julie Anne Van Natter; brothers, Stuart and Tony; sisters, Marion, Harriett and Hilda.
Surviving are sons, Gordon (Carol) of Ocean Shores, WA, Philip (Shawnie) of Yelm, WA, and Dan of Moorpark, CA, and sister Chris Carty of Vacaville, CA; seven grandchildren, Paul, Stephanie, Brian, Michele, Tyler, Amber, Jonah, and Nick; and great granddaughter, Tatum.
She moved with her family to Tacoma during the war as older members were looking for work. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, having been baptized at the age of 12 in Wisconsin by missionaries. In her mature years she fulfilled many church callings.
She graduated from Stadium High School in 1947 and attended UPS for one year. Her work experience began in the x-ray department of the old NPBA Hospital, as a records clerk at the US Army Mt. Rainier Ordnance Depot, and a temporary worker for the Tacoma schools, Dist. 10.
She loved baking bread, being a family cook, fishing and camping trips with family, sports (especially the Mariners), and all things family and church.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 am on April 20, 2019 at the Church of Latter Day Saints, 2455 S 78th St., Tacoma. Burial will be at 1pm at Mountain View Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood.
