Nancy A. Nelson's Obituary
Nancy Nelson was born in Tacoma, January 18, 1937 by her parents William and Audrey McKendry (deceased). She Graduated from Lincoln High School in 1954. Survived by Dennis Nelson, husband of 50 years; their daughters Vickie Cowan, husband Jim, Roxanne Nelson, significant other John, and Denise Bailey, husband Steve, her brother Bill Mckendry and faithful dog, Brandy. Nancy also has 8 grandchildren: Denette Cowan, Nichole Moody, Renee Engelking, Jack Cowan, Ashley Moody, Eric Engelking, Jennifer Bailey, and Steven Bailey. Her great-grandchildren are LilÂ' Markie DeClements III, and Julien Bailey. Nancy loved to go camping, fishing and hunting. Her hobbies included playing lottery scratch tickets, watching the hummingbirds, crocheting, dancing, and watching the Mariners, Seahawks, and Sonics. She was a past matron of Eastern Stars vida chapter 37.Nancy was a dedicated wife and wonderful mother and grandmother. She was our mother-goose, always making sure everyone was taken care of. She was a warm, generous, loving person with a big heart. Nancy fought a courageous battle with cancer. Her spirit lives on in all the lives she touched.Nancy passed away June 10, 2005 at her home with family in Lakewood. Viewing will be held Wednesday 1:00 - 9:00 PM at Mt. View Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 16, 2005 in the Mt. View Valley Chapel. Reception to follow at Dennis and Nancy NelsonÂ's home in Lakewood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MultiCare Hospice, 710 South Fawcett Ave. PO Box 5200, Tacoma WA 98415.
