Nada "Mamo" Lee (Loop) Carini's Obituary
Nada “Mamo” Lee (Loop) Carini, 83, passed away on May 8, 2019. She was born in Raymond, on January 31, 1936, the daughter of Dannie and Alice (Anderson) Loop.
Nada grew up in Washington, and attended Western Washington University after graduating from Stadium High School. In August of 1957, she married the love of her life, Joseph, and together they spent 44 wonderful years together, before his passing in 2001. Nada and Joseph also owned and operated Carini’s Garden and Pet Stores together. She was a devoted mother, but her greatest joy came when she became a grandmother and great grandmother. Nada was affectionately nicknamed by one of her grandchildren as “Mamo”, a name that seemed to fit her perfectly. While her first priority was always her family, Nada was an exceptional artist. She also enjoyed going to the “Beach House” every year with her family, hunting for Agate on the beach, which she holds the record for the largest piece discovered in Grayland, was a trophy winning bowler for many years, and was an amazing cook. She was best at making her Italian chicken, and possibly the worst at making coffee. Nada was the matriarch of her family, and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Michael Carini of Lakewood; daughter, Lisa (Donald) Strasbaugh of Lakewood; grandchildren Samantha Carini, Megan Peterson, Gabriel Strasbaugh, Sophia Carini, and Joseph Carini; great grandchild, Cash Peterson; sister, Jimme Mitchell of Milton; and brother Nard (Maureen) Loop of Tacoma.
A funeral will be celebrated at 1pm on Tuesday, May 21, in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, where burial will follow. All in attendance are invited to a reception in the Willow Room.
Please honor the life and memory of Nada by leaving cherished memories, messages, and photos for her family on the tribute wall.
