Myrtle Jacobson's Obituary
Myrtle (Erickson) Jacobson died November 28, 2005 in Federal Way, Washington. She was 87. She was born in Hoquiam, Washington, February 5, 1918 to Gust and Lena Erickson, the fourth of eight children.She moved to Tacoma after her marriage in 1942 and had lived in the south end until her recent move to the Pt. Defiance area. She was active in the womenÂ's circles at Trinity Lutheran Church especially as one of the quilters, making quilts and comforters for the mission fields until she moved to the north end. She enjoyed gardening and frequently had the most colorful yard on the block. Her kitchen, with its enticing aromas was always a favorite of the grandsons as well as extended family and friends. She was part of a group of women who met monthly for companionship and a friendly game of pinochle.She was preceded in death by Oscar, her husband of 51 years in 1993 and by sisters Gertrude, Elsie and Evelyn and brothers Ralph and Delbert.She is survived by sons Stephen (Kerry Louise) of Renton, Washington and David of Marleton, New Jersey and five grandsons, John, Matthew, Paul (Alicia), Tim and Mark, two sisters, Doris Erickson of Las Vegas, Nevada and Signe Gadwa (Frank) of Marysville, Washington and numerous nieces and nephews.Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 2, 2005 at St. MarkÂ's Lutheran Church, 6730 N. 17th St., Tacoma. Interment will follow immediately at Mountain View Memorial Park, Tacoma, with a fellowship hour to follow.
