Myrtle Barbara Calk's Obituary
Myrtle (Warren) Calk November 20, 1914 - April 8, 2008 Myrtle was born in 1914 in Butte, Montana, where her father was superintendent of the local copper mine. As her father's health deteriorated from working in the copper mine, the family moved to Washington State. In 1920, Myrtle, her brother Howard and Mother Annie, and Father, Will Warren, relocated to the coal mining towns of Carbonado/ Wilkeson. Her father died at the young age of 33. As a young girl Myrtle worked as a waitress for the local mining company hotel and played the piano for the silent movies. Myrtle married and raised two sons. She worked at Rainer State School in Buckley and later when she moved to Tacoma, she worked as a Nurse's Assistant at Western State Hospital. She is survived by sons Gary and Robert Hreha and friend Larry Zandi. There will be graveside service at 11:30 a.m., Monday April 14, at Mountain View Cemetery, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. S.W. Tacoma, Wa. 98499-0947, followed by a reception at the Fairfield Estates, at 9207 So. 28th Ave S. Lakewood, Wa 98499. For further information call 253-588-2895.
