Myron (Mike) Lanier's Obituary
Myron Lloyd (Mike) Lanier, born August 13th 1937 on a small farm near Atlanta, Kansas to Lloyd Arthur and Thelma Lanier entered into rest at Good Samaritan Hospiital in Pyuallup, Washington on January 25, 2020. He attended Phillips University in Enid Oklahoma then served four years in the United States Air Force. He stationed in Klamath Falls, Oregon where he met and married Katherine (Kay) Thompson. The couple moved to Winfield, Kansas where Mike worked for the Kansas State Highway Department and then for as a Winfield City Policeman. The family moved to Puyallup, Washington in 1969 and Mike worked for the Port of Tacoma until his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joyce Lanier Krehbiel and nephew, Mark Krehbiel. He is survived by his wife, Kay, two daughters, Rebecca Sanders (Scott), Mary Lanier of Puyallup, and son David Lanier (Gabriela) of Bonney Lake, grandchildren, Mark Sanders (Raeann) and April Sanders, both of Puyallup and great grandchildren Alexandria Dawn, Mark Junior and Elnora Rose Sanders and two nieces, Gina Krehbiel Koeppl of Rhinelander, WI and Lori Krehbiel Tennimon of Millbrook, Alabama. Mike was a life-long member of the Christian Church and was a devoted follower of Christ. A wonderful husband, father and grandfather, he enjoyed weekly Saturday breakfasts and Sunday dinners with his family. He was a strong supporter of the Tacoma Rescue Mission and the family appreciates memorial donations to this worthwhile charity.
