Myles (Bud) Barrett
Born February 3rd, 1920 in Staples, MN, Myles S. Barrett passed away Saturday, July 26th, 2008, ending a long battle with bone cancer. A loving husband of over 50 years and devoted father, Myles will be missed by many. Myles was preceded by his wife Elizabeth Barrett in February 2003. He is survived by a sister, Donna Basket, children Greg Barrett, Ann Heaney, and Michael Barrett. Growing up, Myles attended Bellarmine Preparatory school and what was then called the College of Puget Sound. He later served in the Navy, and fought in the Battle of Leyte Gulf, surviving the sinking of his ship the USS Hoel. Myles retired as a real estate broker in Tacoma, and enjoyed their beautiful home overlooking the water in the North End of Tacoma.
