To Jim's family and especially Justine.
I am so saddened by recently hearing of the loss of Jim and I hope these words will help in your time of grief.
I had the honor and privilege of working with Jim for many years, while I was the Executive Director of the Washington Public Employees Association--- the union that represented Jim and his fellow employees at the state Liquor Control Board. Jim served his fellow members at the LCB, but also or behalf of WPEA's thousands of members across our State, on its Board of Directors as well as its many Committees. I particularly remember Jim's activism, whether in relations with managers at the Seattle Warehouse where he worked, on picket lines for many union activities, and in political action and lobbying the legislature for pay raises, benefits, pensions and more. Jim was ALWAYS there when we needed him-- he could ALWAYS be counted on. More importantly, Jim was one of the most positive people I have ever met--- he kept our spirits up, when times were tough. I thoroughly enjoyed his friendship all those years and have thought of him many, many times--- since I retired form the WPEA 12 years ago. Jim was very special and I will always remember him with fond memories.
